Every collection starts with an idea, and for my Spring and Summer releases, that idea was simple… beautiful clothing that is not only fun to sew but also feels good to wear.
In warmer weather, we naturally gravitate towards easy dressing… pieces that slip on without fuss, move comfortably with you, and keep you feeling cool all day long. That desire was the inspiration behind Freya, Pippa and Isla.
Each pattern was thoughtfully designed with comfort at its heart. Minimal closures make them quick and easy to sew and wear. A loose fitting bodice or a fitted bodice with comfortable stretch both provide a flexible, flattering fit. Soft, flowing tiers and skirts create beautiful movement, making every design feel light, feminine and perfect for sunny days.
Freya
Freya welcomed spring. Designed to be effortlessly wearable. The bodice and flowing tiers offers ease for a comfortable wear. The optional ties allows the wearer to cinch the waist for a flattering shape. The lined puff sleeve is a beautiful blend of structure and softness. Fully lined for a polished finish, it eliminates the need for visible seam finishes while creating a smooth, comfortable fit against the skin. The lining also provides subtle support, helping the sleeve maintain its elegant puffed shape without adding bulk. The gentle volume at the shoulder creates a feminine silhouette, while the relaxed shape through the sleeve keeps it comfortable and easy to wear.
My favourite element of the Freya dress or top is the front and back bib. Its clean, structured shape creates a beautiful focal point while providing the perfect canvas for personalisation. Whether you choose delicate lace trims, heirloom pin tucks, embroidery, piping, decorative stitching, ric rac, scalloped edging or contrast fabrics, the bib can be customised to reflect your own style. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.
Pippa
Pippa continued the story with its gorgeous shirred bodice and elasticated ruffled straps.
Comfortable, versatile and endlessly wearable, it’s the kind of dress you’ll reach for again and again. For this reason we offered all the dress lengths for Pippa. The pattern includes options for crop top, peplum top, vintage/petite length dress, standard length dress and also midaxi length dress. Pippa embraces one of today’s most-loved fashion trends while remaining a timeless wardrobe staple.
One of the goals behind Pippa was to introduce makers to the art of shirring. Shirring is a technique that often feels intimidating, but Pippa breaks it down into a simple, achievable project that builds confidence while teaching a valuable new sewing skill. Once mastered, it’s a technique you’ll find yourself reaching for again and again.
Despite its fashion forward look, Pippa is wonderfully simple to construct. The uncomplicated design allows the fabric to shine, making it an enjoyable sew for confident beginners and experienced makers alike.
Isla
Isla completes the collection. Our newest release embraces everything we love about summer dressing with soft ruffled flounces, flowing skirts and elegant movement. Isla is feminine, flattering and effortlessly stylish for girls, tweens and women alike.
Isla was inspired by the idea that the most elegant garments don’t have to be the most complicated to create. Every design choice was made to achieve a beautiful, feminine silhouette while keeping the sewing experience enjoyable and approachable.
At the heart of Isla is a comfortable, well-fitting bodice that slips on with ease, eliminating the need for zips or button closures. It’s designed to move with you, offering all-day comfort without compromising on style.
What makes Isla truly special are its delicate details. Twin spaghetti straps create an elegant, modern neckline, while the optional lightly gathered flounces are thoughtfully positioned on the bodice to frame the neckline and body in a way that’s both soft and distinctive. These unique design elements add movement, texture and a touch of romance, elevating the finished garment without adding unnecessary complexity to the construction.
One of Isla’s greatest strengths is how effortlessly it comes together. Although the finished dress looks beautifully detailed and refined, the construction is refreshingly simple. It’s the kind of pattern that gives the impression of hours of careful sewing, when in reality it can be completed with surprisingly minimal effort.
Together, these three patterns reflect my vision for the season… designs that celebrate comfort without compromising on style. They are easy to wear, enjoyable to sew, and created to make you feel confident, comfortable and beautiful.
