Introducing Georgie, a vintage inspired bubble dress!
There are some designs that feel extra special from the very beginning, and Georgie is exactly that for me. I’m so excited to introduce my very first sewing pattern for Vintage Little Lady! This design is especially close to my heart because Georgie is named after my youngest daughter, Georgia, though we call her Georgie most of the time. In so many ways, this dress reflects her spirit: sweet, playful, and full of charm. Georgie was created with a simple idea in mind: a dress that captures everyday magic, but can just as easily be elevated for the most special occasions. It’s the kind of piece that feels just as right for a quiet afternoon as it does for parties and holidays.
A Dress for Every Moment
One of my favorite things about Georgie is how much the final look changes depending on your fabric choice. I really wanted this pattern to be versatile – something you could make over & over, each time with a completely different feel. Sew it in a simple cotton print, and it becomes the perfect everyday dress – charming and ready for play. Choose something more elevated, like taffeta, and it transforms into a piece made for unforgettable moments. Each version brings out a different personality in the design, making Georgie a pattern you’ll reach for again and again.
All the Girly Details
I knew from the start that I wanted Georgie to feel unapologetically sweet and feminine, full of those little details that make a dress feel truly special.
So I included:
- Ruffle puff sleeves for that soft & sweet silhouette
- A bubble skirt for volume, movement, and the perfect twirl factor
- A bow sash in the back for a beautiful finishing touch
These elements come together to create a dress that feels classic, playful, and just a little bit magical.

The baby version also includes a pair of coordinating bloomers, making it just as practical as it is precious. And of course, the matching doll option makes it even more magical! There’s something so sweet about creating a tiny version to go alongside the full-size dress.

Designing Georgie as my VLL first pattern has been such a meaningful experience. I poured so much love into every seam, every detail, and every decision, hoping to create something that inspires you as much as it inspired me.
